Clear out continues
07 Oct 2008Alice Empire Amen Warrior Princess was and still is me and my sister Zara. The tracks featured varying degrees of help from Ben O’Shea and Alex_Tea and were recorded between 1998 and 2001. The music was intended as a pastiche or maybe a tribute to Atari Teenage Riot, Digital Hardcore, Alec Empire and other related artists of that era.
Patric C from Digital Hardcore once called me up to tell me he wanted to release our material as a 7″. I thought it was a wind up that was something to do with my friend Nadia so I slammed the phone down. Thinking about it now I don’t think it was – oops. Another label got our track featured on a compilation that was very briefly in the Singapore indie top 10. Chicks On Speed were apparently fans too!

I found two of these tracks years ago on some club website and loved them, it’s the same place I came across some Test Icicles demos and got into them too. Cheers for the music!
