They are all too musically diverse to be put together by anything other than their nationality. It’s all slightly generic too but that doesn’t stop it being all ridiculously good.

I don’t know much about The Glove but seems pretty amazing. Here he is with Egyptian Lover, who is also wearing a glove, teaching you suckers how to DJ.

This track takes 40 seconds to start but when it does it’s worth it. I wish I had it on vinyl because I can imagine it would sound so sweet with the pitch wacked up played fast.

Ed DMX once rapped it to me a few winters back at a 7 Year Glitch night. He went ‘my first taste of Miami bass came when I was on tour in ‘84′ – totally wrong.

Maybe I’d be more offended if it was Jew hating instead of misogyny, homophobia and general violence but early gangsta rap seems so ridiculous to me that I believe it’s a macho parody rather than mindless exploitation – I hope so – otherwise listening to it’s pretty bad. Either way the old stuff seems like comic book bravado compared to the modern genre.
